Jake Dixon will need to undergo a medical examination ahead of this weekend’s Thailand Moto2 event to get the green light to go ahead and compete.

The GasGas Aspar rider fell heavily on his shoulder when he crashed while running in second position during a weather-affected Australian Moto2 race at Phillip Island on Sunday.

Though medical tests at the circuit and in hospital haven’t revealed any serious damage, Dixon says the shoulder remains painful.

As such, he will need to undergo a final test by medical officers at the Chang International Circuit, the Buriram-based host for the Thailand Moto2, on Thursday to get the go ahead to start P1 on Friday.

“I'm fine after the crash. On Sunday and Monday my shoulder hurt a lot” he said

“But all the medical tests I have done don’t show any kind of injury and the pain is going away, so on Thursday I will be at the circuit for the medical exam that will tell if I am fit or not to ride.”
