For the second World Superbike race weekend in a row, Sam Lowes will start from the front row of the grid.
Sam Lowes will start the Italian World Superbike Round from the front row of the grid after setting a good pace on Saturday morning.
The British rider had secured provisional pole after the riders' first runs in the Superpole session. However, he was not able to match Nicolo Bulega's pace on the qualifying tyres.
However, this is the second race weekend in a row that Lowes has started from the front row of the grid after claiming pole position at the Dutch World Superbike Round last time out.
Lowes has been inside the top seven in all three Practice sessions throughout the weekend at Cremona and is expected to fight for podiums this weekend.
After securing his first pole position and podium last time out at the TT Circuit Assen, the 34-year-old is on good form and is ready to fight in Race One.
"It is nice we have been slowly building all year," Lowes told TNT Sports in Parc Ferme.
"From the first laps here, I have felt pretty good. We know that the Ducati works at every track you go to in Free Practice One. If you are confident, you can find that rhythm.
"Yesterday, I did a 19-lap run in Free Practice Two, it was not too bad. [Nicolo] Bulega is a bit stronger by a few tenths. But it is not as much as it was in Assen, so I am getting closer, which is a positive thing.
"I did not do a good qualifying lap, I missed turn one a bit, I did it in fourth gear because I missed my shift, so I lost a couple of tenths there. I am happy with it, it was a solid session, and I am looking forward to the race."
