For the second time this weekend, Nicolo Bulega has taken victory at his home round of the World Superbike Championship.
Nicolo Bulega took back-to-back victories at the Italian World Superbike Round in Cremona as he dominated the Superpole race.
The Italian had already won the opening race of the weekend on Saturday as he beat Toprak Razgatlioglu in a battle in the early stages of the race. However, he did not have to battle on Sunday morning as he led from the first lap until the last.
Bulega's pace was untouchable as he was the only rider to set a lap in the 1:27s, as he set a 1:27.980, which was 0.114 seconds slower than his pole position lap time on Saturday.
"It is incredible, it is an amazing pace," Bulega told TNT Sports after the Superpole race.
"Toprak [Razgatlioglu] never gave up, so I had to push until the last lap. Anyway, my plan was to try and go from the first lap, and it worked, so I am really happy.
"This is my second win at home, so it is a very nice feeling."
Bulega's pace was so fast during the Superpole Race that he did not believe his dashboard when his lap time appeared.
"When I saw on the dashboard 1:27.9, I said 'no impossible, the dashboard is wrong'," Bulega explained.
"Like I told you, it is an amazing pace, all the race I was trying to escape from Toprak, and I had to push 100% of every corner on every lap."
There is still one more race remaining of the Italian World Superbike Round, and Bulega looks set to claim his second triple of the 2025 season.
