2025 Isle of Man TT, SSP1 TT Results: Michael Dunlop wins for Ducati to extend TT record

Michael Dunlop has become the first rider to notch up 30 victories at the Isle of Man TT as he extended his record-breaking run with a win in the first Supersport TT race at the 2025 Isle of Man TT.

The Ulsterman fended off a challenge from Dean Harrison to stamp his dominance on the intermediate class once more, extending a run of wins that stretch five editions since 2019.

Significantly, the win marks a return to glory for Ducati machinery after 30 years, Dunlop having switched to Ducati Panigale V2 machinery over the winter having dominated in recent years with Yamaha.

It means Dunlop has now achieved victories at the TT with seven different manufacturers, underlining his status as the greatest road racer of all-time.

He was made to work hard for the success though, Dunlop forced to reel in seven seconds on Harrison after a tricky first lap.

However, an adjustment during the stop would revitalise Dunlop’s challenge, the all-time TT record-holder overhauling and pulling ten seconds on Harrison by the chequered flag.

Behind Dunlop and Harrison - who scored their second podiums of the week after finishing second and third in the Superbike TT race - James Hillier came through to third for his first TT podium since 2019.

The result is particularly satisfying for Hillier after he was left high by the abrupt collapse of OMG Racing prior to the start of the season. Nevertheless, he’d go on to announce a full programme at the TT, Hillier achieving his Supersport success with Bournemouth Racing on a Kawasaki ZX-6R.

Davey Todd had to contend with fourth place, the Superbike TT winner seemingly not as comfortable on Supersport machinery having jumped from BMW to Honda to compete.

Josh Brookes kept tabs on Todd to come home in fifth place, ahead of James Hind, while Dominic Herbertson, Ian Hutchinson and Conor Cummins rounded out the top ten.
