MotoE World Champion Mattia Casadei joins WorldSSP ranks

2023 MotoE World Champion Mattia Casadei will add the WorldSSP Championship to his racing programme after agreeing terms to join Motozoo ME Air Racing for the remainder of the season.

The Italian will dovetail his commitments on the grand prix schedule in MotoE - a championship he currently leads - by jumping aboard the MV Agusta F3RR for the final seven rounds of the year.

He replaces Federico Caricasulo in the team, the Italian having departed the Italian outfit following Round 6 of the season in Most in favour of a switch to DG34 Racing.

“I want to express my gratitude to Fabio Uccelli and Motozoo Me Air Racing Team for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to embark on this new adventure in the Supersport World Championship.

“We are starting midway through the season, and I recognise that it won't be easy; however, I’m approaching this challenge with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to give my best right from the start.

“Misano holds a special significance for me, and debuting with the team on this track will be an unforgettable experience.

“I also want to thank LCR MotoE Team, which I will continue with throughout the season, for enabling me to seize this chance to compete with Motozoo from now until the end of the Championship!”

Casadei, who will make his debut with the team on home soil at Misano, has made six starts in WorldSSP, his last appearance coming on MV Agusta machinery in 2022.
