Michael Rutter is ‘conscious, breathing and stable’ following an accident during the second Supertwins TT race on Friday evening, Isle of Man TT organisers have confirmed.

The TT veteran crashed at the 31st Milestone during the second Supertwins TT race of the weekend.

Taken to Noble’s Hospital, Rutter is confirmed to be stable, though there is no word yet on any injuries he might have suffered.

“During the third and final lap of the Supertwin Race earlier today at the Isle of Man TT, Bathams AJN Racing rider Michael Rutter fell at the 31st Milestone,” read a statement from his team Bathams AJN.

“We can confirm that Rutter is conscious, breathing and that his condition is stable.

“At present, he is undergoing scans and observations at the Noble’s hospital to determine what if any injuries he may or may not have. Further details will follow.

“Meanwhile, we would like to say a huge thank you to all the marshals and medical staff on the scene who took care of Michael, plus the paramedics and medical staff at Noble’s hospital.”

A veritable veteran of racing, Rutter made his debut at the TT way back in 1994 and is a seven-time race winner on the event, though he chose to scale back his commitments to just the Supertwins class aboard a Yamaha.

In addition to his TT success, Rutter is also a multiple race winner in the British Superbike Championship and holds the record for victories at the Macau Grand Prix street race event.
