HRC complete its Suzuka 8 Hours rider line-up

Honda Racing Corporation

Iker Lecuona will complete the Honda Racing Corporation Suzuka 8 Hours rider line-up alongside Johann Zarco and Takumi Takahashi.

The factory Honda Racing Corporation Suzuka 8 Hours squad has been completed after the Japanese manufacturer originally announced two of its three riders.

Since it was originally announced that MotoGP race winner, Johann Zarco, and six-time Suzuka 8 Hours winner, Takumi Takahashi, would make up two-thirds of the line-up, it was theorised that a World Superbike rider would complete the line-up.

It has since been announced that Team HRC World Superbike rider Iker Lecuona would complete the three-man team for the historic event.

This would be the Spaniards' first time back at Suzuka since winning the 8 Hours with Honda back in 2022. Ahead of the announcement, Lecuona was able to complete a two-day test at the Suzuka Circuit with HRC.

"I am very happy to race again at the Suzuka 8 Hours with HRC," Lecuona said.

"I have good memories of Suzuka.
I know Takumi’s riding really well, and Johann is doing great this year.
I want to prepare well to help HRC achieve a fourth win in a row.
I look forward to seeing everyone at Suzuka."

"I am very pleased to be back to the Suzuka 8 Hours as a member of Honda HRC this year," Zarco said.

"I am looking forward to participating in this traditional and prestigious race once again, and meeting all the fans in Japan.

"I will bring my good momentum from MotoGP to Suzuka, and aim for the victory alongside my teammate. See you at Suzuka!"

"This year I will be participating in the Suzuka 8 Hours again with Honda HRC," Takahashi said.

"The race will be very tough with the competition from strong EWC teams, three factory teams, and top teams from All Japan Championship.

"I will aim for a fourth consecutive victory as Honda HRC with my teammate, who has previously won the Suzuka 8 Hours. I hope you will support Honda HRC by passionately cheering for us."
