After a difficult first half of the season, Pedro Acosta has committed to KTM for 2026 and reflects on his tough year so far.
Ahead of the summer break, Pedro Acosta took time to reflect on his difficult start to the 2025 MotoGP World Championship in the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing squad.
Up until the Czech Republic Grand Prix, the Spaniard had a best finish of fourth place and had not featured on a podium across the 11 rounds.
"I think every sportsperson needs hard moments in their career to become stronger," Acosta told MotoGP.com.
"This will make a stronger person for sure, and faster in one way. I think KTM and I came to the Championship this year with a clear target, or with numbers in our heads.
"But it has been totally the opposite. We are pushing each other closely every day. From my side, I can be more precise, and I think KTM will push to bring something new for the Red Bull Ring.
"It is never easy when you are in this hole, or this tunnel, it is quite difficult sometimes to see the light at the end."
Earlier in the season, there had been rumours surrounding Acosta's future with the Austrian manufacturer, but he has put these to bed.
"I am quite happy where I am," he stated.
"We are not where we expected to be, we are not where we dreamed to be this year. But we are going away from this bump and this difficult moment.
"Now we have to keep going in this direction, who knows what will happen in the future. I have to jump on the bike, go as fast as I can, and give my 100%."
At the Czech Republic Grand Prix, the 21-year-old returned to the podium as he finished second in the Sprint Race and third in the Grand Prix.
"Well, we always hope to be wrong," Acosta said after his double podium at Brno.
"Since Le Mans, we have been working day and night, thanks to the crew, because they have been managing the worst character of Pedro Acosta for the last couple of months."
