Jake Dixon returned from the summer break in high spirits, but ended his Austrian Grand Prix in 20th place.
The Austrian Grand Prix was Jake Dixon's worst Grand Prix of the season as he struggled throughout the weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
After finishing outside of the top ten at the Czech Republic Grand Prix, Dixon hoped to return from the summer break at the sharp end. However, he recorded his worst finish since the 2024 Indonesian Grand Prix.
The British rider ended up finishing the Moto2 Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in 20th place and lost ground in the Championship standings.
"It wasn’t a great weekend. There are not many positive things to say, unfortunately," Dixon said.
"It’s been a disaster. We had that incident on the first lap, which meant I was right at the back of the field. This wasn’t ideal. And from there, I just didn’t have the pace.
"I tried to recover and kept going until the end but I couldn’t make amazing progress. I don’t think I’ve finished in this place since 2019 so it’s a tough one to take.
"From now until Balaton Park next week I want to try and do as much relaxing as possible because we need to reset a bit after this and try and come back refreshed to fight again."
Dixon has remained in fifth in the Moto2 World Championship, but has lost ground to the riders ahead of him as he is 69 points behind Manuel Gonzalez and is now only 13 points ahead of Celestino Vietti who is in sixth.
