This weekend, Tommy Bridewell will deputise for the recovering Iker Lecuona in the Honda HRC WorldSBK Team at MotorLand Aragon.

Honda Racing UK British Superbike rider Tommy Bridewell will replace Iker Lecuona for Honda HRC at the Aragon World Superbike Round this weekend.

This will be the second round that Lecuona has been forced to miss since fracturing his right arm at the Hungarian World Superbike Round before the summer break.

After Sergio Garcia replaced Lecuona last time out at the French World Superbike Round, the 2023 British Superbike Champion, Tommy Bridewell, has been drafted in for this weekend.

Bridewell has become a regular Test Rider for the Honda HRC World Superbike Team and tested last week at Jerez. However, the British rider has not been to MotorLand Aragon before, and will have to adapt to the circuit during Friday Practice.

Despite his lack of experience at the Spanish circuit, Bridewell is approaching the weekend 'with a positive mindset' and feels it is a 'real privilege' to compete for a factory World Superbike team.

"I don’t know Aragon, so first I’ll need to learn the circuit and adapt from the BSB bike to the World Superbike," Bridewell said.

"As a Honda rider, I of course want to do all I can to help the factory team and will be trying my hardest. I don’t have any particular expectations, considering I’ve not been to the track before. I want to enjoy the experience and head into the weekend with a positive mindset.

"For me to have the opportunity to compete for the factory team in WorldSBK is a real privilege. So I’m really looking forward to it and will do my very best."
