This weekend, former Moto3 rider Josh Whatley will debut in the World Supersport Championship at Estoril.
At the Estoril World Supersport Round, Josh Whatley will make his debut in the series with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse Team.
The British rider has two and a half years of experience in the Moto3 World Championship with MLav Racing. Since leaving Moto3, he has been racing in the 2025 Moto2 European Championship for Cardoso Racing, and finds himself 22nd in the Championship standings.
With Bo Bendsneyder parting ways with the factory MV Agusta World Supersport team, the 20-year-old has been given the opportunity by the Italian team to race the MV Agusta F3 800 RR at Estoril.
A statement from the MV Agusta Reparto Corse squad regarding the arrival of Whatley stated:
"Josh Whatley is ready to make his debut in the Supersport World Championship with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team. The 20-year-old English rider, after racing in Moto3 from 2022 to 2024, competed in the FIM Moto2 European JuniorGP this season.
"The story of the young English talent is still being written, and the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team will debut him in FP1 at Estoril on Friday.
"After his experience on a Moto2 bike, Josh will be able to showcase his talent on the F3800RR in these two rounds in the challenging and highly competitive Supersport category."
After completing his debut weekend in World Supersport this weekend at Estoril, Whatley will continue with the team for the 2025 season finale at Jerez in a week.
