Federico Caricasulo will ride for Evan Bros on the new ZXMoto in the 2026 World Supersport Championship.
For the 2026 World Supersport Championship, a new Chinese manufacturer has entered the series and has partnered with the Evan Bros Team.
The Italian team had a long-standing relationship with Yamaha and had won two Supersport titles with the Japanese manufacturer in 2019 and 2020.
However, Evan Bros decided to part ways with Yamaha ahead of the final season of their deal, and has signed a new agreement with ZXMoto, and has acquired Valentin Debise and Federico Caricasulo for their debut season together.
"I am really hapy to join this new project," Caricasulo told WorldSBK.com at EICMA.
"Because I am joining a new manufacturer who is really motivated to grow, and to be fast from the beginning. I will be joining Evan Bros, which is the team I started with, and who created me in Supersport. I had my best results with them, so I think together we can do big things.
"The project is nice, the bike is really nice, I will try it tomorrow [Thursday, 6th of November] with some track specs. I will know better tomorrow. So far, I have only used the standard bike. But immediately I can feel the racing DNA of the bike."
'The bike is made for racing...'
When asked what he believes the positives and the negatives of the new machine are, Caricasulo was unable to give a confirmed answer, as he has not tested the racing bike yet.
"At the moment, I don't know because I have only used the standard bike," he explained.
"For me, the good point was the torque of the engine, because it is quite smooth and easy to ride. When the team does the racing bike, I will have more of an idea how it will be."
A debut season for a new machine is never straightforward, and the Italian rider knows he will have to put in a lot of hard work to make the bike competitive against its rival manufacturers.
"I expect a lot of work, but I expect to start from a good base," he stated.
"The bike, for me, is made for racing, the team is the World Champion Team from this year. I know them very well, and I think we can do a good season."
