Assen WSS: Lowes breaks collarbone but will be at Monza

Parkalgar Honda's Sam Lowes broke his collarbone in a big crash during the Assen World Supersport round yesterday and was taken to hospital but will be in attendance at the Monza race in a fortnight's time.

The reigning British Supersport Champion was kncoked out and heavily concussed when he was highsided off his CBR600 in a race that was started three times due to crashes. He was apparently talking gibberish on his way to hospital but one paddock wag said no-one could tell the difference.

"Sam high sided while going for the race lead and has broken his collarbone and suffered concussion. We will be doing all we can with him to make sure he recovers quickly and fully; we expect him to be racing at Monza. He again showed his undoubted talent and his day will come," said team boss Simon Buckmaster.
