Ice Valley BMW's Simon Andrews was blown away by his first laps of the Northwest 200 circuit last night and says he will put the gearing right in order to get the most of out his Superstock-spec S1000RR.

Andrews, who is a race rookie but has competed at Macau for the last two years, is taking part in three races on Saturday and has already identified he needs to be much faster through Station (which is virutally flat-out for the brave of heart).

"It's awesome and I want to go faster! Seriously, it's an awesome place but we're looking at it critically and not taking anything for granted. We are being calculating and leaving nothing to chance. The track deserves big respect so we are just chipping away, no heroics," said the Evesham man, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
