Sidecar rider Bill Currie and passenger Kevin Morgan have died.
The pair were involved in an incident at the high-speed Ballacrye section during the first lap of practice yesterday evening and were killed. The session was red-flagged and then abandoned.
From Ellesmere Port, Mr Currie (67) has been racing at the TT for many years. In the 1969 TT he finished third in the Sidecar Races and in 1997 became the F350 Sidecar Champion. He finished eighth th in last year’s TT sidecar Race in his fastest ever race time of 107.944mph. Mr Currie was divorced with two children.
Mr Morgan (59) was single and from Shrewsbury. He was an experienced passenger and this was the first time the pair had crewed together.
