Alstare Suzuki’s Yukio Kagayama broke his left collarbone during a crash on lap one of race two in Qatar after coming together with Carlos Checa and will not race at the weekend.
Kagayama, who changed his race number this year from 71 to 34 in celebration of his Suzuka 8 Hours win, his age and his idol Kevin Schwantz, will be forced to miss the Australian Round of the World Superbike Championship and probably also the FGSport tests scheduled for Valencia on March 13-14.
He is expected to return for the Spanish Round there at the start of April. In Australia he will not be replaced and his GSX-R1000 will be used by Max Neukirchner.
