SKERRIES | FRONT ROWS FOR WILLIAM DUNLOP

William Dunlop will start from the front row of the Supersport 600 races at Skerries in Co-Dublin on today after the CD Racing Yamaha rider took second quickest time in the timed session on Friday night, just 0.2 seconds slower than pole setter Gary Johnson on the Uel Duncan Honda.

Dunlop also set 7th fastest time on the Chris Dowds R1 Yamaha Superbike, in the Open timed session, before posting second quickest time in the 125cc class, and then topping it all by posting fastest time in the 250cc Class, which will see Dunlop start from pole position.

He said yesterday: "Tonight went really well. The conditions were perfect and my times were very good. We had a few wee problems with the Superbike, but I think the Team can get those sorted out by tomorrow, however, I have no such problems with the Supersport 600. The bike is set up perfectly and I really enjoy riding it. Its not very often that I have set faster times than Ryan Farquhar and Keith Amor, but both are behind in the 600 class, which is very pleasing.

"The wee 125 bike is going ok, but there are a few minor things that I need to sort out later with it, but I am happy with the way she’s going and to be second is ok for me. It was good to get Paddy Flynns 250 Honda onto pole position again and after all the work that we have done with it since the North West, seems to be paying dividends. The only worry I have is tomorrows weather forecast. Its not looking good at all with heavy rain forecast in the morning, so that could change all that we have done. At the moment however, I’m happy with how practice has went".
