THUNDERSPORT PEMBREY: MCALORAN BACK IN THE SADDLE

With Mark Davies storming ahead and only a win away from clinching Thundersport GB's GP2 Championship, the battle for second position remains open. Currently, Barry Utting has the edge but come Pembrey on the 23rd and 24th August, a familiar Northern Irish rider will be back to try and lift himself out of fifth spot.

Chris McAloran will be back on the grid for our Welsh round having recovered from the ankle bone break he suffered at Brands Hatch on the first day of June. McAloran was a front runner at the start of the season and although that first win still illudes him, quite a few podiums saw him as a worthy title contender. Unfortunately the accident at our Brands round has seen him miss three rounds and many valuable points, slipping Chris down to fifth in the standings, but a single point behind Matt Cole in fourth.

Although Chris is still not yet fully fit, Pembrey will be used as practice to be ready for the Anglesey meeting in September. Chris will be joined in the J&RB Racing team by Leamington Spa's Adrian Martin as the team try and wash away their bad luck.

Ex-British Championship rider Mark 'The Dog' Davies will certainly be hoping Chris can cause a stir in the battle for second as he closes in on the GP250 title. Davies has been in fine form this season and currently stands 148 points clear of the chasing pack.
