Neil Hodgson's dream return to superbike racing in the UK has been crushed by Honda. The former World Superbike champion had been lining up a wildcard ride for the Vent Axia Honda team early next month but his AMA squad put the brakes on his appearance.
As exclusively revealed by www.bikesportnews.com, team boss Paul Bird wanted to have Hodgson and Chris Walker in the same team for the Donington Park round but Hodgson's Honda America team boss said there were too many risks involved.
However, Bird is still hopeful he may be able to get Hodgson on the Fireblade at either the Magny Cours or Portimao races later in the season.
