Xerox Ducati’s Troy Bayliss has taken World Superbike provisional pole at Donington Park this afternoon, continuing his dominant form from this morning.
The Australian swapped places on the timesheets with Ten Kate Honda’s Ryuichi Kiyobari, who was second just under two tenths behind Bayliss.
HM Plant Honda’s Cal Crutchlow stole third place from Rizla Suzuki’s Tom Sykes with his last lap of the session with Leon Haslam rounding out the top five.
Just a second separated the top six with Sterilgarda Ducati’s Max Biaggi finishing his hour with a 1’45.384 compared to Bayliss’s 1’44.377.
Hydrex Honda’s James Ellison was tenth, a little over two seconds off the pace with Vent Axia Honda man Chris Walker right behind him. The soaking conditions are obviously not suiting Troy Corser or Noriyuki Haga as they finished 12th and 24th respectively.
Ten Kate Honda’s Carlos Checa started the session well, running as high as fourth but scythed his way down the order to eighth.
