NGRRC GEAR UP FOR SEASON OPENER ON MARCH 22

With seemingly nothing but doom and gloom on the news and in the press over the winter, it’s time to put a smile back on our faces and get racing bikes back on track as we make ready for this first round at Brands Hatch.

The NG team has worked hard over the winter to secure a fantastic range of circuits and set out a class and pricing structure that sees more selection for the riders at no extra cost. Steve Bostock and the Admin team have done a lot of head scratching in order for us to offer “no increase in cost” to the rider for the 2009 season.

Circuit-wise it’s a nice mix, from tight and twisty, at Brands Hatch Indy and Pembrey… to fast and flowing with Cadwell Park and Oulton Park…  and the super fast at Snetterton and Thruxton. Plus a first for NG this year as we take on board the spectacular Anglesey circuit, which has been dubbed by the press “ …the Welsh Philip Island”….. Praise indeed. We will find out what this impressive new NG venue has to offer in August.

Once again we offer a wide range on classes for all types of rider and machinery, form the Formula 125 and 80cc machines with riders as young as 12 on board, through the ever-popular Formula 400 and 600cc classes to the Sound of Thunder. The SoT class sees a great deal of extra interest in 2009 with the class already showing growth in numbers, mainly due to Triumphs 675. The British triple takes on big Ducati’s and Aprilia’s and if last year is anything to go by, the Italian’s will be quaking already.

The main Club class will once more be the Phoenix Open with timed qualifying and longer races. It gave us classic racing last year and is sure to continue in ’09, with reigning champion Joe Symonds already up, for the task ahead.

NG Road Racing has also once more secured the deal to run the 250 GP ACU National Championship. Last years series was a raging success and already the ’09 riders list includes a number of European riders wanting to pit themselves again the UK’s best. As ever this is the only place you can see pure 250cc GP bikes racing for a National championship title.

We will also be hosting rounds of the R & G backed 2009 Suzuki GSXR Trophy. This Nation-wide series will take in NG rounds at Snetterton (16/17 May), Cadwell Park (6/7 June) and Oulton Park (19 September).

We also see for the first time a summer date for our Thruxton round with mid June the date for the fastest UK mainland circuit….. lap records could take a battering.

It’s good to see also that in these cash tight times the NG Road Racing package is still attracting new sponsors with fresh cash. Progressive Solutions is a Business Consultancy, that offers a wide range of services from Project Management through to Marketing and Web site design was set up by former NG Champion Dylan Morris and now backs the newly titled “ Progressive Solutions Powerbike”. We welcome them to the extensive NG Sponsorship team.
