Parkingo Yamaha's Chaz Davies was handed the World Supersport win at Motorland Aragon this lunchtime when race leader Broc Parkes crashed out with three laps to go, which also sees Davies hit the top of the points table.
Davies harried Parkes for the whole race while fellow Brit Sam Lowes held a watching brief in third place. It looked like the Aussie could do no wrong until he lost the front in turn nine, giving Davies the number one spot. Lowes could do nothing about Davies' pace and settled for 20 points.
The Welshman's team-mate Luca Scassa also crashed out which means Davies now has a 20 point advantage over Parkes in the series table and 35 over the Italian. David Salom bagged the last podium spot ahead of Massimo Roccoli.
Gino Rea just lost out to Roberto Tamburini on the last lap in the scrap for fifth place while James Ellison retired after just two laps.
