Parkalgar Honda's Sam Lowes fired a hefty warning shot at his World Supersport rivals in this morning's second free practice session at Silverstone, lapping almost a second faster than the Ten Kate Honda pair of Florian Marino and Fabien Foret.
Lowes put in a 2'09.019 in the middle of the 45 minutes which topped his own time and no-one else could get anywhere near. Marino was second on a 2'09.859 and veteran Foret was fractionally slower on a 2'09.962. Broc Parkes put his Motocard Kawasaki in fourth but is a second off the pace.
Yesterday's fastest man Gino Rea couldn't match his pace from yesterday and finished in fifth, lapping in 2'10.211 while David Salom just edged out series leader Chaz Davies on the Parkingo Yamaha.
James Ellison had to pick himself up after a first lap crash when team-mate Pawel Szopek nerfed him off. The Kendal man ended the session in 12th but only put ten laps in.
