Thursday's feature Dundrod 150 Superbike was red flagged after just one lap due to deteriorating conditions around the 7.4-mile course that saw many of the leading contenders pull in. In a day blighted by constant mist and intermittent drizzle, it was 7.25pm before the Superbikes took to the grid and when it did it was without third man on the grid Keith Amor.

"Conditions were really poor and if you were to go off line you'd be in trouble, and that's before you'd even considered the mist. It was swirling all round and I didn't want to be out in that. Neither did loads of the other riders but they didn't want to pull off the grid," said the Scotsman.

Guy Martin led at the end of the first lap by over 9 seconds from Ryan Farquhar, Gary Johnson, John Burrows, James McBride and Dan Kneen (the last two having started from the second wave) but it was clear that all was not well as William Dunlop, Bruce Anstey, John McGuinness, Cameron Donald and Michael Pearson all pulled in. Sure enough, with the rain again beginning to come down, race organisers stopped the race soon after, a disappointing end to a difficult day.

However, some riders were bemused by the red flag with Ian Lougher and Steve Mercer just two who were happy for the race to continue. Both riders had slick rear tyres and were happy with the level of grip.

“I was happy to stay out,” said Mercer. “I had a slick rear in and it was fine so I don’t know why was it stopped, just because a few riders pulled in?”

Olie Linsdell had earlier won a processional five-lap Classic race (ironically held in reasonable conditions) by over 50 seconds from Paul Coward with Mark McGaw in third whilst Jamie Coward took the victory in the National race after a late manoeuvre on Czech visitor Michal Jiros. Michael Niblett took third.

Wayne Hamilton was awarded the victory in the Supertwins race after it was stopped when the leaders were on their fourth lap. The result was given at two laps so Hamilton got the win by 0.6s from Ryan Farquhar whilst Ian Lougher won the concurrently-run 125cc race.
