Michael Dunlop continued his incredible run of success with another treble at the Munster 100 Road Races, round 20 of the Duke Road Race Rankings 2011.
Held on a new three-mile closed public road course on the outskirts of Timoleague in Co Cork, Michael was unstoppable from the first race of the day, the Open Championship race enjoying a two second victory over Southern on-form rider Derek Sheils with fellow Ulsterman John Burrows third.
Changing from the 'big' Kawasaki, the Ballymoney man rode to victory on the Street Sweep Yamaha in the 600 Championship, this time taking a 4.6 second win from Derek Sheils and John Burrows.
Michael completed his hat-trick in the Grand Final on the Kawasaki, this time with a 7.3 second advantage over Derek Sheils with John Burrows again third, having broken the 90mph barrier with a lap at 90.137mph - the first at Timoleague.
The elder Dunlop brother, William also stood on the top step of the podium, not once but twice with race wins on his two-stroke machines in the 250cc and 125cc races, also taking fifth in the Grand Final using the 250cc Honda prepared by his younger brother, Michael.
Newcomer Derek McGee continued his winning ways in the Senior Support race with five championship races and five wins. Riding his R6 Yamaha, Derek only joined the 'pure roads' racing at Walderstown winning on his debut and has since taken the chequered flag at Kells, Athea and Armoy, also winning the nonchampionship Support races. His victory at Munster sees him climb to 41st position in the current rankings.
Ciaran O'Callaghan took the Junior Support honours, the second win of his debut season, which slots him in 55th place in the table.
Meanwhile at the head of the table, Michael continues to close on current leader and five time champion Ryan Farquhar, with William still holding third. John Burrows Supertwin race win and another three podium places moves him into fifth ahead of three time winner Ian Lougher, as Derek Sheils, who had three second podium places climbs one place to 13th.
