Parkingo Yamaha's bid to take over the soon-to-be redundant pair of works World Superbike YZF-R1s has been apparently been turned down by the boss of Yamaha's European race section, Laurens Klein Koerkamp, as the plan wasn't up to scratch.

According to the Italian media, Parkingo's Giuliano Rovelli had put in a bid to take over the team lock, stock and Carchedi but flaws in the business model saw Koerkamp bid them farewell and adieu. The team is now holding talks with other manufacturers, so we could still see Chaz Davies in the big class next season.
