Alitalia Aprilia's Leon Camier is definitely not benefiting from the Max Biaggi-shaped space in the garage at this weekend's Magny-Cours World Superbike round as he is struggling to find any confidence with the front-end of his RSV4.
The former British Superbike Champion, who likes to have a front-endy setup, is languishing in 16th place after first qualifying but managed to get some feel from the rear by the end of the day. Tomorrow's pre-Superpole work will need to find grip from the front Pirelli and Camier will also tweak the electronics.
"We worked really hard during practice using the same tyre for a lot of laps to see how it would work over a race distance. We adjusted the RSV4 quite a bit until we found a decent setting for the rear," said the lanky Kent not-quite-so-youngster.
"Tomorrow we'll focus on the front-end where I still don't have a great feeling as well as on the electronics. With so many riders within tenths of a second of one another, it will be hard work to move up. We'll have to see if the changes we're thinking of will allow us to do that."
