Newly-crowned World Supersport Chaz Davies will start from the front row of the grid for what could very well be his final race in the middleweight class at Portimao tomorrow.
Davies looks set to step up to World Superbikes with his current Parkingo team but on a Ducati and he could test it on Tuesday at the Portugese track. He qualified third this afternoon behind the Motocard Kawasaki pairing of David Salom and Broc Parkes but is only just over a tenth off the pace.
Ten Kate Honda's Florian Marino rounds out the front row with Massimo Roccoli putting his Leoni Kawasaki at the head of row two. Sam Lowes, who crashed in this morning's free session, is sixth and seven-tenths off the pace. Gino Rea is ninth and James Ellison tenth.
