Kawasaki's Tom Sykes wants to silence the critics who have slated him for not being able to last a full race World Superbike distance and will try to do so from pole position at Motorland Aragon tomorrow.
The Huddersfield man, who bagged his sixth Tissot watch of the year in Superpole this afternoon, did the equivalent of nine race distances in testing at the Spanish track last week and is confident he has the setup to challenge right to the chequered flag.
"I think the forecast is for weather conditions to be a little bit cooler tomorrow which will make the racing faster for everybody. We will see what happens, because there were five guys who are looking fairly strong. We worked hard in the tests here last weekend," said Sykes.
"Kawasaki worked hard and my crew chief worked me very hard and we did the equivalent of around nine race distances in total over the three days, so hopefully that will pay off tomorrow and we can silence a few people."
