Metzeler National Superstock 1000 race winner David Johnson will ride the Pedercini Kawasaki World Superbike at Silverstone this weekend after getting a late call-up this morning.

Johnson, who won his first Stock 1000 race at Oulton Park, will replace Leandro Mercado as the Argentine rider is stepping down to ride in the European Superstock Cup after struggling with the full-blown Superbike. Aussie Johnson will partner David Salom.

"The weather looks dodgy so it may suit me as I know the track well but I've never seen the bike before so I'm not expecting a result. It's just going to be a fun ride out and I'm looking forward to the experience," said Johnson.
