2012 Manx GP: Monday's action suffers 24-hour delay

Due to poor weather conditions, which are expected to continue throughout the day, Monday's Manx Grand Prix race schedule has been postponed until Tuesday.

The roads will close on Tuesday at 11.30am with the four lap 350cc/250cc Classic Grand Prix starting at midday and the Junior Manx Grand Prix starting at approximately 2.45pm.

The roads will open again between 5pm and 6pm and will close again at 6pm to allow a one lap practice for each of the two qualifying groups. It is intended to open the roads again shortly after 7pm.

Manx Grand Prix Clerk of the Course Phil Taubman said: "The Met Office has advised us that poor conditions are anticipated throughout the day so we have taken the decision as early as possible to minimise disruption for the general public, race officials and the competitors."

"I would appeal to anyone who is able to marshal to turn out tomorrow as it will help us to ensure that the revised schedule runs on time."

Provisional Tuesday schedule:

10.00: TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS OPEN FOR 350/250 CLASSIC

& JUNIOR MACHINES

11.30: ROADS CLOSE

12.15: 350/250 CLASSIC RACE (3 laps)

13.30: approx end of Race CROSSING POINTS OPEN

14.45: JUNIOR RACE ( 4 laps)

WHOLE COURSE OPEN BETWEEN 5pm & 6pm

18.00: ROADS CLOSE

18.15: 500 / FORMULA CLASSIC & JUNIOR POST CLASSIC & LIGHTWEIGHT PRACTICE (1 lap)

18.35: SUPERTWIN, SENIOR & CLASSIC SUPERBIKE (1 lap)

19.00: ROADS OPEN CAR LEAVES ST. NINIANS

Please note the 350/250 classic race is shortened to a 3 lap race starting at 12.15. The Junior Race remains a 4 lap race starting at 14.45
