Camier to remain with Fixi Suzuki in World Superbikes for 2013

Former British Superbike Champion Leon Camier will remain with the Fixi Suzuki World Superbike squad in 2013 after signing a deal at the Magny-Cours round.

Spending another year on the GSX-R1000 was one of a number of options Camier had, others included a return to Aprilia on either a satellite RSV4 in WSBK or on a CRT in MotoGP, but he has chosen to remain and finish the work he has started.

“I am so happy to continue working with Fixi Crescent Suzuki and the whole team. We had a tough start to 2012, but the guys have all worked so hard to turn things around and we are now more competitive and close to the podium," said Camier.

"I really wanted to stay here and continue with what we have started and to win races on the Suzuki, which is still the target and will be our main focus for 2013. The whole team is totally focused on succeeding in WSBK and with everything that is happening at the moment we are heading in that direction - it feels good to be a part of it.”

The team has made no mention yet of a team-mate but Sylvain Guintoli is thought to be in the mix while team owner Paul Denning will step into the soon-to-be-departed shoes of Big Jack Valentine as manager.
