Fixi Suzuki teamster John Hopkins has been forced out of any further action at this weekend's Magny-Cours World Superbike round with the team citing his ongoing hip injury as the cause.
Hopkins has been way off the pace all weekend and pulled out of this morning's second qualifying session after two laps because "the layout and technical demands of the 4,411m French circuit have severely aggravated the injury, causing pain levels which made it impossible for him to continue,' said a spokesman.
"After careful consideration and discussions with the team, he took the tough decision to abandon any further attempts to race this weekend."
