Aprilia racing boss Gigi Dall'Igna has indicated a decision on whether or not Sylvain Guintoli will partner Eugene Laverty in the factory team is imminent.
The Frank Zappa-a-like spoke to our friends at GPone.com at the Milan Show and said that the Frenchman would be a reasonable choice for a second rider but the squad were also prepared to run as a one-bike unit if needs be.
"We are still making our final decision. We have enough bikes available to make whatever choice we want, but we just have to figure out the makeup of the team. Guintoli could be a reasonable choice to partner with Laverty. I repeat: everything will depend on what we decide in the coming hours," he said.
He also hinted that the Althea squad could be work alongside Red Devils Roma as a satellite team but added the latter squad had still not made up their minds.
"We want to be present in the championship with adequate numbers and representation Our offer to them (Red Devils) hasn't changed. They will definitely have our technical support, as outlined in the contract. Having a team on the level of Bevilacqua's (Althea) would be a positive thing."
