The East Midland Racing Association’s (EMRA) plans for 2013 sees the club breaking two long standing traditions.
Their first event of the new season will be held on the second Sunday in March rather than the first and after 28 years of exclusive competition at Mallory Park the club will hold two of its 2013 events at other East Midlands circuits – Cadwell Park and Darley Moor.
“The decision to move away from Mallory Park to other circuits for some of our rounds is not one the club has taken lightly, particularly in these difficult economic times. But we have listened to the opinions of our members in opting to do this and now we are hoping for their continued support throughout 2013,” said club secretary Mark Jessup.
“The Cadwell Park round will be on the full circuit, while the Darley Moor round will be preceded by the Darley club running their own meeting on the Saturday before we run ours on the Sunday. We are also hoping to organise a barbeque or something on the Saturday night of this meeting so riders can make it a full weekend of racing.
“Our feature event, the Buildbase Mallory Trophy, will be supported by both Buildbase and Mallory Park next year and will run at all six rounds and we are very grateful to both Buildbase and Mallory Park, and all of our other sponsors, for their continued support of the EMRA Club Championships.”
The provisional EMRA calendar for 2013 is:
Round 1 – 10 March Mallory Park
Round 2 – 7 April Mallory Park
Round 3 – 19 May Cadwell Park
Round 4 – 21 July Darley Moor
Round 5 – 18 August Mallory Park
Round 6 – 22 September Mallory Park
