Aprilia's Eugene Laverty topped the timesheets on the final day of testing at Jerez, just nipping ahead of Kawasaki's Tom Sykes and the Red Devils RSV4 of Michel Fabrizio.
The Aprilia and Kawasaki team were joined on track by the BMW and Ducati squads, and also the factory Ducati MotoGP squad of Nicky Hayden and Andrea Iannone.
Laverty put in a 1'40.185 with Sykes two-tenths faster, while Hayden, on the Desmosedici GP13, did a 1'40.855 which would have put him third. Iannone was significantly slower on a 1'41.834.
"This was a very good test for us and the lap time shows that. We did almost 250 laps in all. It was nice to set the fastest lap so we can go into the winter break in a good mood," said the Irishman.
"Honestly I didn't expect to go so fast but we made great progress with the front of the bike allowing me to push it more than ever. We're all set for next season."
