Kawasaki World Superbike title contender Tom Sykes was taken to hospital in Melbourne with suspected wrist injuries following a big highside on day one of testing at Phillip Island.
The Huddersfield man had a similar accident to Leon Camier but didn't emerge unscathed and doctors found a fracture in his right wrist but are unsure whether it is a new or old injury.
Sykes had done only five laps and it looks unlikely he will ride at the Australian track tomorrow. He may well wait until Monday for the next test sessions.
