Phillip Island WSBK: Rear tyre problems halt Iddon

Parkingo MV's Christian Iddon could do nothing but roll over the line in his World Supersport debut after suffering serious loss of grip when the rear Pirelli on his 675cc triple gave up the ghost.

The British rider had been on course for a top-eight place but he, and experienced team-mate Roby Rolfo, both suffered with tyre problems at almost exactly the same time with the Italian retiring.

"I had a lot of fun up until I had the problem with the tyre. I am very happy how the bike was set up, the team did a fantastic job. My pace was quite good and I thought I could have fought for the top seven. I realised I had the tyre problem because I was nearly crashing at every corner, but I decided to finish the race and get some more experience," said Iddon.
