Phillip Island WSBK: Top ten for rookie Kennedy

World Supersport rookie Jack Kennedy came away from the Phillip Island round with a top-ten finish in his first race and said had it not been for a technical gremlin, it could have been higher.

The Irishman, who finished runner-up to Glen Richards in last year's British Supersport series, got away from the line in fourth and was running with the leaders until his tyre, and then a sensor, decided otherwise.

“I am happy to get a top 10 finish at my first WSS race but a little frustrated to slip back out of the lead group when my tyre went away," said Kennedy.

“I had a good battle trying to hang on to the eighth place but then the sensor went and that just made it too difficult. All in all we had a great weekend and I'm happy with the progress me and the team have made so far, really looking forward to the tests in March and the race in Aragon."
