'Real improvement' for Sykes' injuries ahead of Aragon test

Kawasaki's Tom Sykes says he has seen a real improvement in the injuries he sustained in a big highside at Phillip Island's pre-season World Superbike test in January.

The Huddersfield man cracked a bone in his wrist which hampered him during the season opener Down Under but says he is now fully prepared for the next set of tests which start at Motorland Aragon tomorrow.

“In the past few days there has been a real improvement in my physical condition. I will have some final X-rays on my wrist and ribs when I get to Spain and see how we need to play the testing. I am looking forward to the test and we have some new items to try, which should be interesting," said Sykes.

"I like Aragon because it is enjoyable to ride, exciting, and we have three days there. I am looking forward to getting back onto the Ninja ZX-10R because it has been a long layoff since Australia. The break between round one and round two could not have come at a better time for me because I have had time to recover from my injuries.”
