Tyco Suzuki's Guy Martin had to content with a misfire on his GSX-R600 which saw drop from podium contention early in the race to an eventual eighth place and half a minute behind winner Michael Dunlop at the chequered flag.
The Lincolnshire rider started brightly but by the end of lap two he had slipped out of the top five, and was then passed by Cameron Donald, James Hillier and youngster Dean Harrison. Martin will have his last opportunity for a win in the Senior on Friday.
“It was a strange little problem that only happened low in the rev range, but it certainly hampered our progress. I could have pulled in but thought, ‘what a lovely day to ride your bike’ and continued for the fans and sponsors," said Martin.
