2013 Ulster GP: Martin tops extra Superstock practice

Guy Martin topped the times in Saturday morning's free practice session for the Superstock class at a damp and grey Ulster Grand Prix. The practice session had been added to the schedule after the class lost their session on Thursday and Martin went quickest at 120.796mph despite the damp conditions.

Rain showers had left the Dundrod circuit wet all the way round but with the rain having stopped, a 5-lap session got underway at 10.30am and the lap speeds steadily increased. Dean Harrison went quickest early on with a lap of 119.60mph - which proved to be his quickest - and it was Martin, Ian Lougher and Michael Dunlop who were the quickest three riders and the only ones to break the 120mph barrier.

Harrison held on to his fourth place ahead of Gary Johnson, Lee Johnston, Bruce Anstey, Derek Sheils, Gareth Keys and Michael Pearson.

However, the grid will see Dunlop start on pole with Martin, Johnson and Harrison making up the front row.
