Kawasaki's Tom Sykes has had his third place from the second race at Monza re-instated following a hearing held by the FIM at their Geneva headquarters.
Held in front of Judge Mr Jan Stovicek, the International Disciplinary Court found that Sykes had not infringed regulations when he re-joined the circuit at La Roggia and he 'used the route indicated and returned to the track at the prescribed spot'.
After hearing the evidence, Judge Stovicek rejected the appeal by Sylvain Guintoli and Aprilia after the intial decision by race direction, and the record books will show Sykes as finishing third instead of fourth.
This now means Sykes points score is 287 while Guintoli's is 286. They remain one-two in the championship standings.
