Manx Grand Prix bosses have given their assurance that enough marshals and medical cover will be available to cover the Senior race if it needs to be postponed due to bad weather.
Last year, the blue riband race was cancelled for the first time in its history as there wasn’t enough trackside cover for a safe running, but a contingency is now in place to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
“After discussions with the Marshals Association and the Medical Director that full cover would be available to organise and run the Senior Manx Grand Prix on Saturday 30th August should it be necessary to delay,” said an MGP spokesman.
“This is also one of the reasons that only the Senior race will be held on the Friday, in the hope that if the weather conditions prove to be against racing a suitable window will be available for a later than scheduled start of the race.”
