Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes will make his second appearance at the Vauxhall North West 200 in May and believes that he could win either a Superbike or Superport race this year.
The Australian, who will also champion the two classes at this year’s Isle of Man TT, thinks that his pre-season preparation with the new team stands him in good stead for victory at the nine-mile triangle.
“I think that I can win on either bike. I have an equal chance in both categories. I finished third in the World Supersport championship earlier in my career so I know I can ride 600s and Yamaha have a brilliant bike in that class,” said Brookes.
“If I look at my BSB preparation it is the most confident I’ve been going into a new season. “I felt like I had been riding the Yamaha for years right from the first day and at Donington I equalled the lap record on a track that wasn’t in the best condition.
“As a racer you have to have that desire to win and I need to chase that. It is like a dog with a rabbit.”
