Donington WSBK: ‘We have made some big changes’ – Camier

BMW Italia’s Leon Camier says setup changes to the front of his bike has helped immensely during the final timed World Superbike free practice session at Donington Park.

The rider, who’s a stand-in for the injured Sylvain Barrier spent most of the final outing making changes with his team – but the adaptations paid off and the tall Kent racer is now the second leading Evo machine, behind Althea Racing’s Niccolo Canepa.

“It’s not a problem doing three sessions in a day. For the last session we wanted to change the bike quite a lot and we had to change it during the session, which was a bit crap,” said Camier, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the team truck.

“We have had to change the bike quite a lot as the settings from Imola didn’t really work here; we have made some big changes. We started off as the seventh quickest Evo bike and we finished the session second in the class, which shows the bike is working well.

“We changed a lot of the front angle of the bike, and the positioning of the bike. I know the track, but getting the bike to work as we want it to -  is always the hard part.”
