TT 2014: 'I was just cruising' - Anstey

Valvoline Honda's Bruce Anstey is topping the 2014 Isle of Man TT Superbike timesheets but the laidback Kiwi insists he was just cruising his way to a near 131mph-lap on Tuesday.

Continuing with the Valvoline Racing/Padgetts Honda for the fourth consecutive year, the 44-year old was as modest as ever when asked about the lap saying, "I was just cruising! We've got a new engine-spec this year which has given us a bit more speed and we've just started off with the settings from last year. I can just jump on the bike and know what it's going to do and that's allowed me to concentrate on my lines. The big bike's flying at the moment and we don't need to do anything with it as I'm really happy with it."

The team did encounter a misfire with the 600cc Supersport Honda on Tuesday evening, which resulted in Anstey pulling in at Ballacraine, and he opted to use that machine in last night's sketchy session, topping the leaderboard at a solid 123.127mph.
