TT 2014: ‘Michael was better than me on the day - Anstey

Bruce Anstey was again magnanimous in defeat after taking second place for the third time this week in yesterday's second Supersport race but maintains hopes of getting victory in Friday's Superbike race.

The outright lap record holder had to play second fiddle to Michael Dunlop in the Supersport race, having done the same earlier in the day to John McGuinnes in the TT Zero race, and admitted there was nothing more he could have done to beat his fellow Honda rider.

"I got my head down from the start and went flat out but once the gap between Michael and myself was down to six seconds on the road, he could see me all the way and from that moment on, he had the race won. I managed to gain a bit of time at the pit stop and the boys did a great job again but by Glen Helen Michael was with me again,” said the Kiwi, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

"I can't fault the team one bit and the bike was absolutely faultless, Michael was just better than me on the day so we'll have to wait until Friday now to see if I can get the better of him."
