Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes has flown to Barcelona to undergo checks with Dr Xavier Mir on the wrist he damaged in the World Superbike race-one crash at Sepang.

Sykes was brought down in a three-bike melee on the first lap and although he rode to a podium in race two, his wrist has been causing problems.

A team spokesman said that Sykes was undergoing checks but there was no conclusion.
