World of Kawasaki moves to Donington Park

This year’s free World of Kawasaki event, held in celebration of all things Kawasaki, is moving to the famous Donington Park circuit for the 2014 event which takes place on Sunday 6th July.

Venue for numerous famous World Superbike and Grand Prix races in its 83 year history, the circuit and infrastructure has recently witnessed a major update. With a packed programme of events and must see attractions, Kawasaki are understandably delighted to have the exclusive use of such a prestigious world renowned venue.

As a family focussed day out there will be opportunities to actually ride the famous GP circuit under the guidance of track day experts - Focused Events and a Motocross experience for riders who already have suitable off-road riding gear. And for those that want to trade handlebars for a steering wheel, the Kawasaki MULE off-road test ride is an ideal way to encounter another side of the huge Kawasaki engineering empire.

Simply fancy trying out one of the current road machines? You can do that too, with our fleet of new Kawasaki's on a dedicated road route outside the famous circuit walls…

Bringing things back to racing, there are BSB paddock displays featuring the machines and selected riders of the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki team, Lloyds British GB Moto squad and Gearlink Kawasaki among a cast of many.

Other attractions are diverse and plentiful according to Kawasaki Riders Club coordinator, Eleanor Berry.

“We sat down and tried to create an event with an even better mix of attractions than last year – it was hard but I think we’ve done it. There’s the Team Extreme stunt show and Maxxis drift car display as well as Kawasaki’s very own Lee Bowers and a Monster truck display all trying to raise the bar each time they perform for the crowds across the day.

We have two ride out opportunities, one with the help of our friends at BikeSafe and the other, a series of unique “Cruiser Ride outs” with the Vulcan Riders Association who will also have a display of their customised bikes in the paddock."

With live music from Ed Cusick and the team of top rated motorcycle TV show BikeWorld around all day, the event will be an assault for the senses, observes Marketing Manager for Kawasaki in the UK, Mark Spiller.

“There’s going to be a display of Ninja bikes across the thirty years of their production with bikes supplied by Kawasaki fans themselves. We will also have some great classic bikes for people to see - some of which, will start evoking some great memories of yesteryear!

"We realise that this event is a magnet for families and for the kids there is a special entertainment zone with face painting, a bouncy castle and puppet shows. There’s also no age restriction on the ever popular Kawasaki K-LAP feature so the entire family can see themselves racing with Tom Sykes and get a copy of the video to take home with them in the Kawasaki shop we are setting up at the event.

"It’s going to be quite a day and with such an easy to access and well laid out venue the hope is that visitor numbers once more climb to make the 2nd world of Kawasaki the most well attended and successful yet, as Eleanor Berry concludes.

“We are putting 100% effort into this and we hope to deliver a day so full that people want to turn up as the gates open at nine in the morning right until we have to bring the curtain down at five o’clock in the afternoon. Our hope is that it is seen as the best free biking event of the year!”
